Twin Cities Juneteenth Event Celebrates Civil Rights
Across the country Saturday, people celebrated Juneteenth.
It’s a day that marks when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to free African American slaves.
Although Juneteenth is technically on the 19th, it's often recognized the Saturday before.
In Minneapolis, people honored a historic moment in the civil rights movement.
They re-enacted the moment Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus in a spot reserved for white people.
