The American Cancer Society (ACS) is in need of volunteers for a new cancer prevention study.
Cancer is the number one killer of Minnesotans and the ACS is looking to change that. The 30-year study is seeking men and women ages 30-65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer. Those volunteering must be willing to take part for the 30 year time span.
ACS believes that a third to one half of the people in the study will develop cancer. From there the ACS can compare the lifestyles of those who developed cancer and those who didn't.
Matt Flory with the American Cancer Society met with KSTP's Megan Newquist about how to take part in the study.
