High water levels are causing problems for house boats and dams on the St. Croix River.
Boards on the St. Croix Falls Dam broke away Monday morning due to high river flows. The river level will have to brought down six feet to replace the boards. Xcel Energy, which operates the dam, says the repair job could take a month.
Xcel expects to start working on the dam in a few weeks after the river flow returns to normal.
The water has also prompted one marina to bring dozens of boats ashore to prevent damage from the rocky river bottom.
