Dog Recovering After Shot With BB Gun in Columbia Heights

Bookmark and Share

A Columbia Heights man says his dog is now blind in one eye after someone shot the pet multiple times with a BB gun.

Josh Wohlers says he let his dog Jake out Sunday night. He heard him yelp and when he went out to see what happened, Jake was not moving.

"I hear him yelping, and crying, I ran back there to see what's going on. He's on the ground, not willing to move, not willing to cooperate," Wohlers said.

Even after a visit to the veterinarian, there are still several BBs left in Jake's body. Wohlers says he also believes two other dogs were hit Sunday night.

"The people that did this need to be found and the right legal actions need to be taken place for what they did to this dog... he's a harmless dog," Wohlers said.

Columbia Heights police are following up on the incident.
