Woman Charged After Drugs, $60K Found in Roseville Apartment

A woman is facing a drug charge after authorities found nearly a dozen pounds of methamphetamine and $60,000 in cash hidden inside her Roseville apartment.

Roseville police say 29-nine-year-old Graciela Fernandez-Valle admitted to knowing the narcotics were inside her apartment, but claims they were placed there by an unknown man for safekeeping.

Officers were initially called to the apartment building in the 600 block of West County Road B on Tuesday night on a report of two men attempting to break into a second floor window.

The suspects, who were later arrested, told police they were attempting to break into a "stash house" containing drugs and cash.

Fernandez-Valle, who was not home at the time of the attempted break-in, later allowed detectives to search the apartment. They found approximately 11.5 pounds of methamphetamine hidden behind a closet access panel to the adjoining bathroom's plumbing, and $60,000 in cash hidden in the door of the stove.

Police say federal charges may be pending due to the large quantity of methamphetamine, as well as possible connections Fernandez-Valle may have with organized drug distribution.

She is currently being held at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center and is scheduled to make her first court appearance next week.
