An Albert Lea High School English teacher and girls' basketball coach has been dismissed for what the district called immoral conduct.
Sean Gillam was dismissed Monday, the Albert Lea Tribune reported.
Superintendent Mike Funk said Gillam withdrew a request for an arbitration hearing last week and told the district he wouldn't fight dismissal.
Gillam, of Northwood, Iowa, didn't respond to a message on his cell phone Tuesday.
Funk said he couldn't release details of the investigation, but a May 8 memo the board sent to Gillam accused him of lying during its investigation by denying "inappropriate contact." Parts of the memo were redacted and it wasn't clear what kind of contact was alleged.
The resolution dismissing Gillam said the district had no confidence he could observe "appropriate teacher-student boundaries."
